Even long before coming to Hangzhou, I knew of the Grand Canal as one of history’s technological marvels. Since moving here, I have frequently found myself strolling along its banks, taking in the beautiful surroundings. However, it wasn’t until being invited to film a documentary with ZTV-World that I learned just how much the canal influenced the communities it passes through on its way to Beijing. Not only did it bring them wealth, its beauty has captured the imaginations of poets and artists throughout the ages, and it is rightfully held as a symbol of China’s glorious history. Introducing the magnificence of the Grand Canal to a wider audience was an absolute pleasure, as well as an experience I’ll remember for as long as I live.

早在来杭州之前，我就知道大运河是历史上的工程奇迹之一。自从搬到这里后，我经常沿着河岸散步，欣赏沿途美丽的风景。然而，直到被浙江电视台国际频道邀请拍摄一部纪录片，我才知道，这条运河在通往北京的途中对沿岸城市的影响有多大。大运河不仅带来了经济的繁荣，它的美丽也引发了历代诗人和艺术家的想象，因而理所当然地被视为中国灿烂历史的象征。向更多的观众介绍大运河的壮丽景色绝对是一种乐趣，更是我终生难忘的经历。

come to discover that the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City of Hangzhou is such a beautiful place worth visiting. It has incredible views and made me remember my hometown. I’ve come to understand why it was listed as an UNESCO's world heritage and feel honored to present it to the world. The Liangzhu Civilisation culture and history is fascinating and amazed us all along the shooting.

我逐渐发现，杭州良渚古城遗址是一个如此美丽的地方，值得一游。它有令人难以置信的景色，让我想起了我的家乡。我开始理解为什么它被列为联合国教科文组织的世界遗产，并为向世界展示它而感到荣幸。良渚文明的文化和历史非常吸引人，在拍摄过程中让我们大吃一惊。

Being part of this project left a deep and beautiful impression on me about the beauty of Hangzhou. From the natural scenery to the the well preserved historical artifacts , everything was mesmerizing to me. I have learned a lot from this very short but rich journey and would encourage my dear classmates to visit this beautiful place called Liangzhu.
