Guarding Plateau "Spirits" at the Foot of Mount Qomolangma
At the foot of Mount Qomolangma, wildlife protectors like Mima guard the plateau’s rare animals at a rescue station in Qie Village, Dingri County. The station, on the way to Qomolangma, covers multiple towns, with Mima and 7 colleagues taking turns on duty. The Qomolangma National Nature Reserve, a global protected area since 2004, spans 33,800 square kilometers across four counties, boasting rich biodiversity with recovering species thanks to strengthened protection. Mima, who joined in 2022 out of his love for animals, patrols every 5 days with medical supplies, rescues injured wildlife and promotes protection locally. He values the stable job and the dream of safeguarding the plateau’s "spiritual creatures".
