Multinational Firms Increase Investment in China Amid Global Uncertainty

On March 23–24, 2025, at the China Development Forum in Beijing, leaders from AstraZeneca, Nestlé, Siemens, BMW, TotalEnergies, and other global firms announced expanded investments in China. AstraZeneca will build a $2.5 billion R&D center in Beijing; Nestlé has invested over 2 billion yuan since 2020.
