Spokesperson's Remarks｜China responds to Putin-Trump call

China has advocated since day one that the Ukraine crisis should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on Wednesday.

Mao made the remarks at a regular news briefing when asked to comment on the telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday, with a focus on the normalization of Russia-U.S. relations and the situation in Ukraine.

"We've noted the reports." Mao said.

Mao added that China welcomes all efforts towards ceasefire and believes that talks are a necessary step in order to achieve peace. (By Ma Ziqian/China Youth Daily)
