How to Design a Champion Racing Suit for Humanoid Robots

Tiangong Ultra, a 1.8m humanoid robot, made history by winning the first humanoid half-marathon in 2h40m42s. Its custom orange racing suit addressed unique challenges: ultra-lightweight materials minimized speed interference, anti-static fabric ensured signal stability, and a single-side magnetic closure enabled quick dressing. Strategic cutouts exposed cooling vents and emergency buttons, while breathable design prevented overheating. The color contrasted with the event's theme using optical effects. Designed by Beijing Future Design Lab, the outfit balances functionality and aesthetics, hinting at future interactive robotic wearables merging tech and design.
