Youth Survey | Can We Still Read Deeply in the Fast-Paced World?

A new survey conducted by China Youth Daily released on World Book Day shows that while reading habits are improving, challenges remain. About 79% of respondents say they can usually finish a book, but many struggle with fragmented time, heavy workloads, and distractions from entertainment.Mobile reading and audiobooks are now dominant, reflecting shifting habits in the digital age. Despite the convenience of online content, many still value deep, focused reading for reflection and personal growth.
