China adds seven EU entities to export control list
In an announcement today, China’s Ministry of Commerce said that, in order to safeguard national security and interests, as well as to fulfil international obligations including non-proliferation commitments, it has decided to add seven EU entities, including FN Herstal, to the export control list. This is in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Export Control Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Export Control of Dual-use Items.
The announcement states that export operators are prohibited from exporting dual-use items to the seven listed entities, and that overseas organizations and individuals are prohibited from transferring or providing dual-use items originating in the People’s Republic of China to these entities. Any related activities currently underway shall stop immediately.
The announcement also stated that where exports are necessary in special circumstances, export operators shall apply to the Ministry of Commerce.
