China's Leap | China’s Service Industry Enters a New Stage of High-Quality Growth

China’s National Service Industry Conference in Beijing signals a major shift toward high-quality growth of the service sector. In 2025, the service industry exceeded 80 trillion yuan, accounting for 57.7% of GDP, supporting 50% of employment and nearly half of consumption. The focus is expanding domestic demand, upgrading supply, and strengthening public services such as elderly care and childcare. It also supports manufacturing transformation and internal economic circulation. Future development depends on innovation, reform, and improved regulation, balancing expansion with efficiency while promoting China’s service sector competitiveness globally.
