Southeast Asia’s Largest Solar Project Goes Online in Laos

CGN’s 1GW solar farm in Laos, the largest single solar project in Southeast Asia, has started operation. The first phase is expected to generate 1.65 billion kWh annually, cutting CO2 emissions by 1.3 million tons. The project involves 70 supply chain firms and supports Laos’ goal of becoming the region’s “clean energy battery.” It created nearly 3,000 local jobs, repaired roads and five bridges, and won a “green energy” certification for eco-friendly design.
