China's Leap | ​Shanghai's Foreign Trade Hits Record High in 2025

Shanghai's total import and export value reached 4.51 trillion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%, setting a new record, local customs announced. Exports grew 10.8% to 2.02 trillion yuan, while imports rose 1.8% to 2.49 trillion yuan. Notably, exports of electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and solar cells—known as the “new three”products—totaled 156.7 billion yuan, with electric vehicle exports exceeding 100 billion yuan. The city's trade growth outperformed the national average, and exports to emerging markets such as Africa and ASEAN saw double-digit increases.(Photo/China Youth Daily)
