Takaichi Cabinet Support Falls Amid Growing Economic Fears

From December 20 to 21, a poll conducted by Kyodo News revealed that 59.9% of respondents believe the current cooling of China-Japan relations—triggered by Sanae Takaichi’s November remarks that“a Taiwan emergency is a Japan emergency”—will negatively impact the Japanese economy. Correspondingly, support for the Takaichi Cabinet fell by 2.4% compared to November.
