　　揭示万物运行普遍规律的大道，会合统摄了天下万物各自变化发展的特别机理和特殊规律，这个论断由韩非子提出。韩非子认为，“理”是构成每一具体事物的属性和规律，如事物的短长、大小、方圆、坚脆、轻重、白黑等和其发展变化的具体轨迹。事物各有其“理”，并因其所具之理而得以被区别开来。而“道”是成就万物及其所具之“理”的根本法则，“道”会合了万物之理。

　　Dao Encompasses the Patterns of All Things

　　This is a saying of Hanfeizi. He believed that li describes the attributes and principles of each and every thing in the world in terms of length, size, shape, solidity, weight, color, and so forth, and thus differentiates one thing from another. Dao, the fundamental law, generates all the things and encompasses their patterns.
