Horse Heroes in the Forests

In the deep forests of Yunnan, Lv Yongtang and his horse caravan carry heavy steel beams up rugged mountains, where no roads or machines can reach.  For 20 years, they’ve helped build thousands of electricity towers, powering China’s growth hoof by hoof.

Rain or shine, risks like snakes and mudslides can’t stop them.  Lv loves his horses like family, yet often has to sell them to survive.  Though machines are taking over, he believes: “Some jobs only horses can do.”
