​AI Drives China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation to a New Track

On September 21st, at the press conference for the closing of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), Wei Chaohui, Secretary-General of the CAEXPO Secretariat, emphasized the "AI content" of this year’s Expo and the driving role of AI.

As 2025 marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA), the CAEXPO has actively responded to the call of the AI era. For the first time, it has set up a 10,000-square-meter specialized pavilion for artificial intelligence (AI), which centrally showcases approximately 1,200 AI-related exhibits. These exhibits cover nearly 20 large models, 230 digital service platforms/systems, and 520 AI terminal products, bringing together the latest achievements of a number of leading enterprises from home and abroad.

With the support of the CAEXPO platform, more ASEAN countries have reached cooperation intentions.
