Fishing Season Opens at Hengshui Lake

At midnight on Sept 12, 343 licensed boats launched the 50-day fishing season at Hengshui Lake, Hebei. Nets quickly filled with carp and silver carp, drawing crowds of buyers and tourists to the shore. The lake’s thriving fish stocks reflect years of ecological restoration, with 45 fish species and 336 bird species now inhabiting the reserve. (Photo by Chen Kang)
