The U16 men's football tournament of the 15th National Games commenced on September 4 at the Huitang Stadium in Wuhua County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. In the opening match, the host team Guangdong defeated Sichuan 4-1, securing a strong start. Thousands of students and teachers from Wuhua County No. 8 Primary School and Wuhua Huaqiang School attended the event, creating an electrifying home atmosphere.
