Nvidia, the world's most valuable company by market came to China for the first time to participate in the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), where its founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, affirmed his company's dedication to serving China's semiconductor market.

Huang also stated that Chinese officials had conveyed the country's "open and stable" environment, emphasizing their welcome for foreign investment.

Nvidia received a lot of attention during the expo, not only because of the heated discussions about Huang wearing a Tang suit instead of his iconic leather jacket and delivering a speech in Chinese, but also because of the lively scene in front of the Nvidia stand.

As visitors approached, they were greeted by an adorable, flexible lion-like robot dog that interacted with the audience periodically. This robot dog is equipped with a Nvidia "computing unit", which serves as its brain and nervous system, enabling it to perceive its surroundings and perform various actions.

Nvidia staff at the booth told China Youth Daily that the company's main activity at this year's CISCE was a joint exhibition with partners, showcasing solutions in fields such as robotics, automotive technology, industrial digitization, networking, AI Factory end-to-end solutions, and gaming. This covered almost the entire Nvidia business chain.

Regarding Huang's encouragement of young people to participate in AI development, the staff pointed out that young people account for a large proportion of Nvidia's workforce.

During the opening ceremony of the expo, Huang praised China's pioneering efforts in AI, describing its open-source AI as a "catalyst for global progress" that enables all nations and industries to contribute to the AI revolution.

Huang praised the "super-fast" rate of innovation in China, driven by its researchers, developers and entrepreneurs, and noted the transformative impact of AI across sectors such as scientific research, healthcare, energy, transportation and logistics.

Nvidia also announced its intention to resume selling its H20 AI chips in China following assurances from Washington that export licensing restrictions would be lifted. In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated at a regular press conference that "we usually do not comment on business activities".

Lin added that China's opposition to politicizing, instrumentalizing and weaponizing tech and trade issues and malicious attempts to blockade and keep down China is consistent and clear. These actions will destabilize the global industrial and supply chains, and serve no one's interests. (By Ma Ziqian/China Youth Daily)
